Evisu was founded in 1991 by Hidehiko Yamane in Osaka, Japan, and helped ignite the world’s appreciation for premium Japanese selvedge denim. In the early days Yamane produced only a handful of jeans a day on vintage looms, hand-painting the now-legendary seagull logo onto each back pocket himself. Rooted in Japanese craftsmanship, Evisu remains celebrated for its heavyweight selvedge denim jeans, jackets and workwear, prized by collectors for their fades, detailing and authentic Osaka denim heritage.
